I have always loved playing racing video games. If you love racing games you are definitely gonna love Forza Motorsport. The best part of Forza is it's career mode. You start off the career mode by selecting your home region (North America, Europe, and Asia). Your home region will affect what cars are available to you and how much credits (money) they cost. After you choose your home region you will select a car to start off your career. You can modify your car's performance, and it's appearance and aerodynamics. You can also give your car a new paint job and layer some decals on it. By modifying your car's appearance, the rarity of the car will increase. Some of the parts you can modify are the front bumper, the side skirts, the hood, the rims, the rear wing, the rear bumper, the rear lenses, and the window tint. You can also purchase performance upgrades such as engine and exhaust upgrades, new tires, suspension kits, braking systems, turbo kits, and superchargers. You will earn credits after winning races to buy upgrades. You will also unlock new cars from winning races and the cars will be delivered to your garage. By changing the career mode difficulty, you will earn more credits after winning races. Forza's arcade mode allows you to create a quick race by choosing any car from any class and choosing a track to race on. Time Trials give you a preset car and track, the objective is to make it to the finish line before the time limit runs out. Free Runs allow you to race without opponents and you can choose any car and any race track. Forza Motorsport has a good racing soundtrack and the game also supports custom soundtracks. Forza Motorsport has great graphics, good sound effects, and some of the best gameplay ever in a racing game!

L.A. rush

L.A. Rush is a racing game about a man named Trikz Lane. Each of his 35 prized vehicles have been stolen. In the story mode you play as Trikz and you will have to search for the stolen vehicles and reclaim them. You have to race to earn back respect. You can customize your rides with the help of the crew at West Coast Customs. There a lot of shortcuts and insane jumps. You can explore over 350 miles of the famous streets and freeways of Los Angeles. In the quick race mode you can choose a district, a race type, and then you can race, cruise, complete a mission, roam, or you can participate in a lowrider event. Watch out for cops because they are everywhere, but they're easy to evade. There are pedestrians walking on the sidewalks, and crossing the streets. The crashes in L.A. Rush look amazing, the parts will go flying off in slow-motion. I love cruising the city at night time. It is also fun to smash through Hollywood sign. The graphics look nice. The soundtrack is cool, only because it has a song by The Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers in it. L.A. Rush isn't the best racing game out there, it is one of those games you either love or hate.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted Black Edition

Need for Speed: Most Wanted Black Edition is a street racing game with cool cars, high-speed police chases, tons of car modifications, and an unbelieveable sense of speed. In the career mode you have to make your way to the top of the blacklist. The blacklist is the list of street racers that are most wanted by the cops. You have to get your ride back from a guy named Razor who wins your BMW M3 from a pink slip race. So, now you have no car and you have to buy a new one. You can choose between a Fiat Punto, a Lexus IS300, and a Chevy Cobalt. Later on in the game you will be able to drive cars like a Ford Mustang, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Dodge Viper, a Chevy Corvette C6, a Mazda RX-8, and more. As you are cruising around Rockport City you will find shops and hidden races. In the quick race mode you can race in circuits, sprints, drag races, speedtrap, tollboth, pursuit length, and more. Some of the bonuses in Black Edition are new cars like a Camaro SS and there is also a bonus DVD. The soundtrack in Need for Speed Most Wanted sounds cool, it has songs from artists like Disturbed, Static-X, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, and more. The gameplay is cool. the graphics are also nice. Black Edition is $10 more than NFSMW and it has a ton of cool bonuses.

Project Gotham Racing 2

Project Gotham Racing 2 is an arcade-style racing game. In Project Gotham Racing 2 you have to earn "Kudos" by driving with style. You can use Kudos to buy new cars. In the Kudos world series mode you can race in many different places all around the world. Before each race you have to choose a difficulty level, by selecting a harder difficulty you will earn more Kudos. The arcade mode is basically the same, but you can choose whatever car you want instead of choosing a car in one specific class. There is also a cone challenge mode where you have to drive into all of the cone gates and earning Kudos before the timer runs out. In time trials all you have to do is drive around the track and beat your record. The graphics in Project Gotham Racing 2 are really nice. The soundtrack is cool too, it has songs from over 200 artists (two songs by Autopilot Off too!) The soundtrack for PGR2 is available in stores too. The gameplay is really fun. So, PGR2 is a fun arcade-style racing game. It is one of the best racing games on Xbox.

Project Gotham Racing 3

One of the hallmarks of the PGR series has always been its volume--the large numbers of tracks set in a variety of exotic locales, and a list of drivable cars that, based on sheer numbers alone, set the mouths of car aficionados agape. That number has been pared down considerably in PGR 3, to around 80 vehicles. But what an 80 it is. Instead of starting you out in a modest VW Corrado or Honda CRX, right off the bat in PGR 3 you'll have access to some of the hottest high-performance rides in the world. Models from elite makers such as Ferrari, TVR, RUFs, Mercedes, Lotus, and Shelby are available to you from the get-go--provided you have the credits to pay for them, of course.

Luckily, money comes quick in PGR 3, thanks to the game's centerpiece, the career mode. The mode's been split into two subsections--a solo career that has you take on artificial intelligence-controlled drivers, and an online career mode that pits you against real-life drivers in a number of online events. By completing events over a variety of difficulty levels (like in PGR 2, difficulty is noted by medals ranging from tin to platinum), you earn credits that pile up quickly and let you fill your garages (yes, note the plural) with the coolest collection of performance autos imaginable.

When it comes to mission variety, PGR 3's solo career mode will feel very familiar to anyone who's played the PGR series before. You'll have your straight-ahead street races, of course, which will pit you against one or more other opponents in a fight to the checkered flag, and elimination races--multilap sprints in which the last driver over the finish line is eliminated on each successive lap. There's more to do than simply drive fast--in the PGR world, driving with style is just as important as stomping on the accelerator and pointing your nose at the finish line. So the kudos system is back, serving as a measure of your ability to feather your car around corners, maintain awesome drifts around tight turns, and avoid the ever-present walls and other barriers.

Like the cash in PGR 3, kudos seem to be easier to earn this time around--though that could be a function of the incredible power of the cars in the game, which are at once very agreeable to drift-style driving, and fairly easy to control in the process. If you've got some touch behind the virtual wheel, for example, you can slalom your way down long straights, spinning your back wheels practically the entire time, racking up massive kudos along the way. In some timed runs, earning kudos will temporarily pause the countdown clock that you're running against; thus, these kudos versus time races are challenges that require a fine balance of race speed and skillful touch. As easy as kudos are to earn, however, you won't just breeze your way through the kudo-centric cone challenges. At the hardest difficulty level, these races require not only improvisation on the course, to ensure your combo chain isn't broken, but a sniper's accuracy behind the wheel, to navigate the tough placement of the cones. It can be frustrating or invigorating, depending on your mindset.

There's just enough variety to keep things moving forward, and it won't take you much time to get through either solo mode or the online career mode. We wrapped up the solo career mode with all silver medals in approximately eight hours of play. Obviously, there's an incentive to earn even better medals, as well as more credits, achievements, and badges; but with only 23 trophies available in solo career mode, it won't be long before you begin to explore other options in the game.

The other half of your career in PGR 3 will take place online in the appropriately named online career. Unlike playtime matches, racing in your online career is for keeps, as these are ranked matches. A complex system of player matching ensures that you're racing against opponents who not only share an agreeable network connection with you, but also are of like skill on the track. Unlike the solo career mode, your online career never really ends in PGR 3--you are simply on a quest to win as often as possible and improve your online ranking in the process. The challenge of running against unpredictable real life opponents adds value to a game whose single player game ends quicker than you might hope.

When creating matches from scratch, you have three modes to choose from: street race, eliminator, and capture the track (along with team versions of street race and eliminator). Online street races and eliminator modes play exactly as they do in PGR 3's single-player game. In capture the track, your goal is to "own" as much of a particular course as you can by posting the fastest sector teams in specific sections of a track. The quicker you are over the course, the more of the track you'll own. Online performance was silky smooth in our test sessions with the game--we didn't notice any sort of lag or warping of vehicles. And, because it's been a while since we've played the last PGR game online, it's nice to see that beating loudmouths on Xbox Live is still as satisfying a simple pleasure as online gaming can provide.

TOCA Race Driver 3

This game is way better than TOCA Race Driver 2 because there are so many more race types to keep you busy . The pro career mode begins in the middle of a race, just like the previous game. After you finish up this race, you will see a cutscene. Now you get to meet Rick, and after this you can choose any race type and start racing. As you win championships you will unlock even more race types. OK, that's what the pro career is like. In the world tour mode  you can see how the story develops and unlock cutscenes. In the simulation modes you can create a quick race by choosing any race type you have unlocked from the pro career, then you can choose a car, and a race trakc, and choose your race settings. In time trials you can practice driving around the track for best times. The car damage in TOCA 3 is very realistic...blown engines, tires exploding, wheels flying off, etc. The graphics look good in some places, but in other places they don't look so great. The sound is pretty good. TOCA 3 supports custom soundtracks too, so you can listen to music from your own CD's while racing. The gameplay in TOCA 3...we already went over that. OK, so you may also like games like: Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo 4. Well, I guess this really isn't better than those games, but that's just my opinion. Play this game for your self to find out!

Top Gear RPM Tuning

Top Gear RPM Tuning is a good game for its low price. In the adventure mode of Top Gear RPM Tuning you play as Vince Riker. Vince is searching for his car that had just been stolen. Now he needs to buy a new car. He visits Burke Lewis, who helps him find three cars that he is interested in: a hatchback, a pickup truck, and a coupe. You will have to choose one of these three cars. After you purchase a new vehicle you will have a little extra cash to upgrade it. The game says the customization will blow you away, but there really isn't that much customization in the game. You can choose different front and back kits, rims, hoods, spoilers, tail lights and you can choose new paint colors for your car, and apply decals. There is not as much customization as other racing games have. In your first mission you will have to drive to the warehouse to pick up a part that Burke ordered. The first mission is very easy. Then later on you will have to challenge other street racers and you will unlock new upgrades and cars. There are only eight vehicles in the game. The car handling is very unrealistic and it gets annoying when your car spins out of control and slams into a traffic car or a pole and then you have to wait for your car to reset. There is a free ride mode where you can cruise the city. The environments look too plain and boring, they are not detailed at all. The cars are really shiny and they will reflect the neon lights around the city. The traffic cars don't look good at all. The graphics in Top Gear RPM Tuning won't impress you too much. The sound isn't too good either. The techno soundtrack is extremely annoying and repetitive. The engine sounds aren't loud enough. The collision sounds are always the same.
Overall, Top Gear RPM Tuning is an okay game for its low price of $20.

Tourist trophy

Tourist Trophy is a motorcycle racing sim game. Just like Gran Turismo 4, except with motorcycles. The main mode of Tourist Trophy is the "Tourist Trophy Mode". In the Tourist Trophy mode you start off with a Suzuki Skywave. Anyway, there are license tests that you will have to complete to race in higher level races. The license tests will teach you: accelerating & braking, basics of cornering, weight shifting, etc. There are challenge modes where you will have to choose your favorite bike and then you will have to beat the challenge with the selected bike. If you beat the challenge the bike is yours. There is a photo mode where you can snap a photo of your bike in action. You can create slideshows with all of your photos after. There are a couple of different race types in the arcade mode: 1-on-1, single race, time trial, and split-screen racing. In the arcade mode you can create a quick race by choosing a race track, a bike, and then choose the race settings. Tourist Trophy has some great race tracks like: Laguna Seca, Fuji Speedway, Tsukuba Circuit, Super Speedway, and more. There are also some original tracks like: High Speed Ring, Deep Forest, Autumn Ring, and more. And there are even some city tracks like: New York, Seattle Circuit, and I forget the rest. Anyway, you get the point, they were all taken from Gran Turismo 4. The soundtrack is OK, I guess. The engine sounds are really good. The graphics are nice. The gameplay is awesome. The bike handling is very realistic (don't go through corners too quick or you will fly off the bike). Great game, GT4 with bikes!

Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition

Midnight Club 3 is a street racing game with tons of cars and modifications. In the career mode you will have to choose your first car. After you buy your first car you get thrown into a race as soon as you leave the garage. Your first race should be easy if you played Midnight Club 2. Once you beat the first race you are free to explore San Diego. You will have to explore to find street racers and challenge them. The more races you win, the more cars and modifications you unlock. You will also get invited to club events. You will need a specific vehicle to race in club events. You can modify your car with nitrous kits, exhaust systems, tires, turbo, rims, body kits, neon, hydraulics, and more. As you move on the the career mode you will be able to get your ride shipped over to Atlanta, and Detroit, which can also explore. Race editor mode allows you to create your own checkpoint race, by placing checkpoints around the city and then you can test your race. Arcade mode allows you to create a quick race or cruise around the city. There are plenty of race types including capture the flag, circuit races, point-to-point, and more. Midnight Club 3 has a great soundtrack with rock music, techno, hip-hop, and more. The soundtrack has songs from artists like: Queens Of The Stone Age, Unwritten Law, Ash, The Explosion, Hundred Reasons, Idlewild, and more. The graphics are nice, the cars are shiny, the gameplay is really cool, the sound is nice too. Midnight Club 3 is a cool street racing game.

Juiced

Juiced is another street racing game just like Need for Speed Underground 2, Midnight Club 3, and Street Racing Syndicate. Juiced is all about gaining respect, betting your rivals for cash, racing for pink slips, and customizing your ride. In the career mode of Juiced you meet a (bald and slow talking) guy named T.K., who is the leader of a crew called the Urban Maulerz. T.K. loans you his Mitsubishi Eclipse and then he makes a bet with you. You have a choice to either raise the bet or lower it. You will gain more respect by raising it. After you place your bet, the race will begin. If you even scratch his car, you will have to pay for repairs. Whether you beat him or not, you will have to move on and then you can choose your first car. There are not that many cars to choose from at the start of the career. You will have to choose from a Volkswagen Beetle, a Honda CR-X, and a Peugeot 206. After you select your first car you will be able to modify it in the workshop. There are only three types of body kits for each car, but it takes too long just to unlock all 3 of them. You can also add some neon kits and adjust the level of tint on your car's windows. You can even create custom paint schemes for your ride by applying metallic and pearlescent paint coats. When you finish modding out your ride you can take it to the dynamometer. The dynamometer is a test track that shows the performance of your car and how it improves as you upgrade your ride. So, now your ready to race! There are many different types of races such as circuit races, sprint races, solo, and show off mode. I am not going to explain all of the race types. The career mode is repetitve anyway. Juiced has pretty nice graphics, even though they are slightly cartoonish. Juiced has a good soundtrack with songs from The Exies, Kasabian, The Koreans, Moving Units, and more. The gameplay, like I said before is repetitive. Juiced is a good game overall, but I suggest that you rent it first.

Gran Turismo 4

Gran Turismo 4 is a racing-simulation game with excellent graphics, more than 700 cars, and awesome game modes. The main part of the game is the career mode (called "Gran Turismo Mode"). You will begin the career mode by selecting a budget priced car in the used car showroom. After you select your first car you can enter a race in the Beginner Hall. You will have to earn licenses to race in higher levels. You can earn licenses by taking license tests (I am not going to explain all of the license tests because I don't feel like it). After so many races you will have to take your car to the GT Auto shop to give it an oil change and a car wash. You can also change the rims and install a new spoiler. You can upgrade your car by taking it to Tuner Village. At Tuner Village you can purchase performance upgrades from real manufacturers such as HKS, Spoon Sports, HPA Motorsports, Trial, Blitz, Mines, and more. You can even purchase a fully customized model.
A new game mode is Photo Mode. In Photo Mode, you can snap a photo of your ride in real-world locations such as The Grand Canyon, Beacon Hill, Times Square, and more. In Photo Travel mode, you can snap a photo of your car in a race. Arcade mode allows you to create a quick race with any car on any race track. GT4 has some nice race tracks too. Some of the race tracks are Mazda Raceway Laguna SECA, Fuji Speedway, Suzuka Circuit, Seattle Circuit, New York, and more. You can even race on the race tracks from the original Gran Turismo games. Some of the original race tracks are High Speed Ring, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Autumn Ring, and Test Course. Free Run mode allows you to race without opponents. In Free Run you can choose any car and race on any race track.
Gran Turismo has an excellent soundtrack with songs from bands like: Papa Roach, Jimmy Eat World, Less Than Jake, Van Halen, Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers, Jet, and more. GT4 has the most realsitic graphics ever. The AI in GT4 are just plain stupid though.
Overall, Gran Turismo 4 is the best racing-simulation on the PlayStation 2.
